Nanne Dekking serves as the Co-Executive Chairman of Winston Artory Group, bringing 30 years as an art historian and central influence in the art market. In 2016, Nanne founded Artory Inc., New York and Artory GmbH, Berlin, serving as its CEO for the 9 years prior to forming Winston Artory Group.
Nanne has played a key role in shaping some of the world’s most significant collections, advising on the acquisition of important artworks now held in leading private and institutional collections globally. Prior to founding Artory, Nanne served as Vice Chairman and the Worldwide Head of Private Sales at Sotheby’s in New York, where relationships with collectors and museums in North America, Asia, and Europe were integral to the accelerated growth of private sales at the company. Previously, Nanne served as Vice President of Wildenstein & Co, advising private collectors, museums, and foundations on the formation and development of their collections. From 1996 to 2001, Nanne was the founder and principal of Nanne Dekking Fine Arts, an art consultancy firm and gallery in New York focused entirely on provenance research and ensuring a clean chain of title for ultra-high-value artworks. Nanne began his career in the Netherlands as Assistant Curator to the Royal Collections of the House of Orange.
From 2016 to 2020, Nanne served the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) and currently serves as advisory board member of the Responsible Art Market Initiative. Nanne regularly provides his thoughts on the art market, art data, and art tokenization for publications such as Bloomberg and The Financial Times.
